I haven’t done nightclub photography for a while. But when contacted by my friends at Innocence Nightclub in Newmarket and asked if I would like to cover their New Years Eve event? I had worked so hard over Christmas I soon figured I deserved a night out and some fun. And what a night it was. Attached is a link to the album that was posted on Innocence Hu$tle page.
Organised by Stephen John Beauty Salon and raising money for Macmillan Cancar Support and West Suffolk Hospital Charity , this years Winter Wonderland Ball was held at Ashlar House, Bury St Edmunds, on the 5th December 2015 and was a massive success.
Stephen John owner, Steve Trowles, was also the man behind organising this years Life Is For Living 2016 Calendar to raise even more money and awreness for Macmillan Cancer Support and West Suffolk Hospital Charity.
Working as photographer on the calendar and capturing this night was a great privilage and two events I have been very proud to be part of.

Raising money and support for:
In September 2015 I was contacted by Steve Trowles, owner of Stephen John Beauty Salon and also a good friend who I met whilst photographing his nieces wedding in 2014. Steve had been working with the Macmillan Cancer Unit in Bury St Edmunds to help and support women going through hair loss through stages of cancer. As one of the very best beauty salons in the area Stephen John was helping to supply these women not just with hair collections of amazing quality, but also with professional styling, advice, support and fittings.

When Steve contacted me with a brilliant idea. He wanted to put together a calendar to raise money and awareness for Macmillan and the West Suffolk Hospital Charity. Patients and nurses from West Suffolk’s own Macmillan Unit had agreed to model. Each one would be modelling hair supplied by Stephen John in all the pictures. Michelle Bailey had kindly agreed to help with styling. Pit Group had offered to handle the designing. Kingfisher Press were to take care of the printing. All he needed was a photographer. I didn’t even need to think about it. I felt honoured to be asked and it was an absolute privilege to be part of such a great team for such and amazing project.
To work so closely with some of the patients and nurses from Macmillan Unit has been such an experience. The patients who are continually fighting cancer and the nurses who are there to offer their constant support. To say all these ladies are brave and inspirational is a complete understatement. To think of what they have to deal with everyday, the emotions they must go through and how it must effect them yet every day with them was full of laughter. And as a photographer, with these ladies working as my models, I have to say they were quite simply, awesome. Modelling in front of the camera is not easy. Especially if you haven’t done it before. But these ladies were so good in front of the camera and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Back in May 2015 my son & I set off to America for a month to visit my sister. Whilst there we were lucky enough to be treated to 2 nights in Niagara & 3 nights in New York. It had always been a dream of mine to see the city that never sleeps. Now I had the chance. Statue Of Liberty, Empire State Building, China Town, Little Italy, Central Park. It was amazing.
At the bottom of this page you will find a link to my gallery showing some of the images I captured. I was determined to photograph things in my own creative way. Not just take pictures of the famous buildings and areas but capture the life and atmosphere. The patterns and design of the architecture.
My favourite picture from these was taken on the very famous Brooklyn Bridge. Whist walking across I noticed a bride and groom having pictures taken by someone who had quite a basic camera. Most probably a friend of theirs. Others were stopping to take pictures on their phones. I couldn’t resist sneaking a couple of shots. I approached them, introduced myself, gave them a business card and explained I was a wedding photographer from England. I told them that should they want me to I would delete any pictures I had taken or if they would prefer I would be more than happy to email any pictures to them. The groom, Ivan, asked if I would like to take some more. It was a wedding photographers dream come true. A bride and groom on one of the most famous bridges in the world. I jumped at the chance. My only wish is that I had more time and my specific wedding camera and equipment with me. I leave these at home when travelling. I cannot run the risk of loss or damage and have other cameras for different projects. But I am still happy with what I was able to achieve. And so glad I bumped into Ivan and Tamara on their wedding day on Brooklyn Bridge. I emailed the picture below to them and received this lovely email response back form them:

Thank you very much, it is absolutely stunning! We figured it was going to be a great shot, and it ended up being a lot greater.. Thanks again for taking the time and got that awesome picture of us and keep up that amazing work of yours.

A host of the towns local top clothes and accessories outlets gather for Fashion Fusion 2014 held at The Apex, Bury St Edmunds.
High street fashion was in full force with Mothercare and Wallis taking part, alongside Palmers, Joules, Hobbs, Elizabeth Gash, Phase 8, Nicola Sexton, Jojo Maman Bebe.
Fashion for men came from Debenhams, Fat Face and Gerald Boughton.
The models, who mainly consist of shop staff members and volunteers, put on a great show for a packed audience in an event that raised over £5000 for St Nicholas Hospice.

The opportunity to capture such an important day in someone’s life and provide them with images that will make them laugh, cry and relive all those special moments for years to come is something so satisfying I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
